When the Defence Industries Commission has established in 2020, the Commission’s staff have worked hardly by all means and possible capabilities to provide certain limited of armed forces needs to maintain the security and stability to the country and protecting its sovereignty. By the grace of God, the Commission’s accomplishment began to appear gradually, we have been able to bring together combat vehicles “AlAbhar” parts successfully, and produce (manufacturing and assemble) communications devices, night vision goggles, and various types of military cameras. Drone were assembled, bombs were manufactured, the Commission also manufactured cannon “ AlTahadi” entirely in Iraq, as well as handgun “Babel”. The Commission made other military parts that did not reveal their details yet for security concerns.   

Regarding “Babel” pistol, more details are below;

-The pistol was manufactured 70% by one of the Commission factory, whereas the production line was imported by partnership with private sector due the lack of financial allocation to the Commission.  

-Babel pistol was manufactured with distinction and technical support of “Norinco” which is

Chinese state-owned defense corporation that manufactures a diverse range of defence and military products for several decades.

-The pistol has successfully tested by qualified team specialized and passed the examination and acceptance in accordance of international military specifications.

The manufacturing process of the pistol may include;

The most standers of manufacturing Babel pistol are: plumping fuel line gun injection, using granules of polymeric composes and automatic high temperature resistant fiberglass, this mix is treated with high temperature to reach certain degree of hardiness and flexibility, after that a heat treatment is applied through steam generator inside pure water that has certain specifications of chemical and acidity, then a drying process begin by using special prepared curing oven. Then a mechanical operation is followed to form the grip by using 5-axis machine that moves in five different directions, then surface treatments are performed and paint coat added. The amount of imported raw materials of pistol manufacture does not exceed 30% as an added value, this percentage is considered vary good compared to the manufacture of the same weapon in other countries of the region.
