The Chairman of the Iraqi Military Industrialization Authority, Engineer Mustafa Ati Hassan, visited the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense and met with the Secretary-General, Mr. Jabbar Thajil Al-Haidari, at his office in the Ministry headquarters.
The Chairman was accompanied by a high-level delegation of senior leaders from the Authority, including the directors of affiliated formations: Mr. Jalal Abbas Hussein, Director-General of the General Company for Military Industries, and Mr. Akram Shaker Abdul-Fattah, Director-General of the General Company for Copper Industries.
They were received by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Mazen Zayer, Director-General of Armament and Equipment, and Ms. Ban Faiq, Director-General of Personnel.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Authority provided a brief overview of the Authority's work, its factories, its products, and its importance in preserving the country's sovereignty and strengthening its economy by supplying the security and military forces with weapons and military equipment, thus reducing reliance on imports. The two sides discussed topics of mutual interest, including the possibility of developing the work of the military industries and benefiting from foreign experiences in this field. This would ensure reliance on local military industries to support the armed forces and potentially eliminate the need for some foreign contracts by manufacturing certain items in the Authority's military factories.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense expressed his cooperation with the Authority, emphasizing the importance of supporting national industry, training and developing Iraqi engineering personnel working in the Ministry of Defense, and continuously utilizing and enhancing local expertise.
