“And say, ‘Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger and the believers.’”
Truthful is Allah the Almighty.
Since the establishment of the Iraqi Military Industrialization Authority in 2020, the sons of this nation working within the Authority have devoted their efforts—within the means available to them—to providing the minimum essential needs of our Armed Forces in order to preserve the security, stability, and sovereignty of the country.
With the grace of Allah, the results of these efforts have begun to appear one after another. We have started assembling the Abhar combat vehicles, and producing—through both manufacturing and assembly—communication devices, night-vision equipment, and various types of military cameras.
Unmanned aerial vehicles have been assembled, mortar rounds of different calibers have been manufactured, and the Al-Tahaddi (Challenge) cannon, produced entirely inside Iraq, has been successfully completed—culminating in the production of the “Babel” pistol.
There are additional products that remain undisclosed for security reasons.
1. The pistol was produced in the Authority’s factories with a local manufacturing rate exceeding 70%, using a production line imported in partnership with the private sector due to the lack of financial allocations. The manufacturing process proceeds through sequential stages carried out inside Iraq.
2. The “Babel” pistol was manufactured under license and with technical support from NORINCO, a reputable and long-established Chinese state-owned company specialized in the production of weapons and ammunition of various types. This partnership ensures increased reliability and enhanced quality control.
3. The pistol has been successfully tested, and skilled inspection and acceptance teams—working in accordance with international military specifications—have verified its performance.
4. The stages of local production include:
Polymer injection-molding of the pistol frame using thermally treated polymer compounds and glass fibers, processed automatically to achieve optimal hardness and elasticity—key standards in modern pistol manufacturing.
Heat treatment using steam generators and purified water basins with specific acidity and chemical composition.
Drying using specialized industrial ovens.
Mechanical machining of the grip using a five-axis CNC machine designed specifically for this purpose.
Surface treatments and targeted coating applications.
The imported raw materials used in manufacturing the pistol do not exceed 30% of the total material value, which is considered a very good rate compared to the manufacturing of similar weapons in other countries of the region.
We ask Almighty Allah to enable us to achieve further accomplishments in the service of Iraq and its people.
