The Head of the Defense Industries Commission , Engineer Maath Abbass Al-Yasiri, received Mr. Fares Issa, Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Representative Office in Baghdad, who offered his congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of his assumption of office, wishing him success in fulfilling his responsibilities.
During the meeting, they discussed prospects for joint cooperation and ways to strengthen the national industry and develop the production capacities of the Commission's companies by opening up to the private sector and attracting reputable companies with advanced technical and technological expertise and capabilities.
The Commission's Head emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships that contribute to technology transfer, the localization of defense industries, and the development of national industrial capabilities—thereby enhancing Iraq’s manufacturing capabilities and supporting its efforts toward achieving self-sufficiency and consolidating national sovereignty.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed the importance of continuing communication and coordination in a manner that serves shared national interests and supports the industrial development process in Iraq.
